Ampicillin, penicillin, or amoxicillin for invasive listeriosis, and gentamicin is often added in patients with compromised immune systems.

Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, vancomycin, andfluoroquinolones can be used in cases of allergy to penicillin.
