I would identify as a young adult in some areas and parent in others. Firstly, I will state that I did not want to pursue this degree. Indeed, the Lord has a sense of humor. Every time this pathway opened, I would plead like Jonah to find someone else,
But Jonah rose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the LORD. (Jonah 1:3)
However, no matter how much I ran the same crossroads would reappear. Finally, I capitulated and currently, I travel not knowing what exactly the Lord has in mind for me. Each course, I collect gives me a reflection on my unique life experiences and how they all seem to converge to this. The questions that I ask myself follow more like the parent level questions. I want to help this person, organizing prayer, organizing events to help the poor and lonely using this as a platform to witness to Jesus. My friends and I organized a free Christmas dinner to the lonely and the poor, in fact anyone could come. We bought all the food and prepared it and had gifts ready for any kids. This was done outside the church meaning it was not a church sanctioned event. We had about forty-one people, most were grandparents who lived far away from their children but we did get three young couples with children.
