The Death Penalty.
Since the first civilizations Executions have always been a method of punishment for crimes. In some cases the crimes may have been a little ridiculous for being considered crimes, but that never stopped the swing of the ax or whatever type of “death penalty” it was. Back in medieval times a man could have been executed for anything from stealing a horse to stealing an apple from a market stall. All around in some people 's opinion the death penalty is cruel and unfair. These are new ages and our culture has far grown out it’s brutish past traditions, so why should we continue to take barbaric transactions that have no place in today 's advanced society. Amnesty opposes the death penalty at all times - regardless of who is accused, the crime, guilt or innocence or method of execution”(Amnesty). When something as big as the death penalty is even possibly “inhuman” it shouldn 't be able to still be in effect at this day and age, at least not if it 's to be considered justice. For something to be just it would have to be righteous, and the death penalty is not righteous. For something that a society practices to be inhuman and or degrading is not righteous. So America to continue the death penalty seems to be ignorant, especially seeing all these people today that are very aware and protective over human …show more content…
If every form of death penalty is at risk of “extreme pain or torture” then no one should have to do die by being executed. Sentencing someone to death denies them the right to life – enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Right(Amnesty). The traditional method of death by hanging was also easily bungled: If the drop was too short, there would be a slow and agonizing death by strangulation; if the drop was too long, the individual’s head would be torn off (Aclu). Absolutely no one should have to die by having their head torn off or by strangulation, and if the death penalty has risks that big then nobody should have to be a victim of this cruel
