    topics in college Athletics for the past decade is whether or not college athletes should get paid. Big Schools are making an absolute fortune on these highly gifted kids through their exceptional play and social media charisma. Whether or not they should get paid is a bit of a stretch but I think with all of the money the schools are making off of these athletes I think they can manage giving the players a few dollars. Players should be paid for three reasons. Players miss so much class time with all the athletics that are going on but yet the NCAA continues to say that they provide a “free education”, secondly if players were paid the money they deserve they would get an early sense of financial awareness before going to the pros. Third and final reason is the NCAA acts as an employer but gives nothing back. College athletes have such busy schedules. For example star Forward for the Carolina Tar Heels Basketball team, Justin Jackson wakes up around 8am has weights at 830 and has practice from 9:30 to 11:30 and then eats lunch.
