Imagine standing on a basketball court with everyone around you cheering you on and screaming your name. How does that make you feel? Good, right? That’s the feeling that college athletes receive every time they step out on their court or field and do what they love. The controversial question of whether college athletes should be paid a salary has arose in many occasions. Since colleges began recruiting for their sports, the athletes have not been paid a money amount such as a salary, but have been provided with scholarships for their education and other benefits have been allotted. College athletes should not be paid because they are provided other substitutes for a salary and are being showcased to other potential recruiters.
