After watching all of the available videos for the Field Experience Summary, I chose High School Biology, Part 2 as my favorite video. I selected this video because the teacher displays great knowledge of her students, she has provided wonderful materials for her activity, and she has the standards and objectives clearly stated on the whiteboard. In addition to the reasons previously stated, I chose this video because she covered a topic in my subject area. What initially intrigued me to…

The concepts of Mission Command as proposed in U.S. ARMY's Field Manuals is a relatively new concept and has the focus on the Commander's interaction with subordinates and how both conducts operations in the complex scenario of modern combat. Summer 2015 Internship Internship Field Journal June 7, 2015: What were your first thoughts and observations when starting the internship? Having had the opportunity to work with the Hoop of Learning Program during the previous summer session, I held on to the assumption that my duties were going to remain the same, however, that was not the case. The changes between my experience last summer and this summer are that I am no longer a work study student, thus I have been given more access to the…
Following the first five days of field experience observations, the word that comes to mind is exhausted! I observed the instructor to always be constantly moving. I was shocked at how the educator always knew what was going on everywhere in the classroom. The statement having "eyes in the back of your head" was true. Teachers were getting their early, and staying late, and always seemed happy and ready to go the next day. I had an idea on how Coach Palmer would teach all week. I knew he would…
General Observation: This week marked my third week in Mrs. C’s 4th grade classroom at St. Rose. During their scheduled reading time, I taught my first observed lesson of three required for my second field placement. This was not my first time teaching a lesson in Mrs. C’s class, as I have been afforded the opportunity each time I am in the classroom to lead a lesson in some way. Sequencing of events was the target skill I pulled from the story, The Right Dog for the Job. The students were…
The group that I had chosen to observe was within my field placement. My field placement is at a school called Creekview Intermediate for 5th and 6th graders and I was able to sit in with a class to help educate students about conflict. We talked about ways to resolve conflict ways to prevent it as well as a way to get help when one sees conflict arising. This was a goal directed activity to help the students understand conflict and to try to avoid it. This was a great experience for me as it…
