TGIT (“Thank God It’s Thursday”) lineup, it needs to be as good as a Shondaland show. Audiences can tell when they are receiving a cheap, underdeveloped knock off. The first step would be to create more likeable or unlikeable characters. While watching a show, audiences need someone to love and root for, or to actively love to hate. Characters that can be rooted for bring viewers back for more, as they want to continue on with the character’s story. Furthermore, it is easier to stand by a character when they know who they are and respond to situations based on their background and personality. The audience may not know why they do what they do yet, but viewers will learn soon enough. Berman and Hagan’s show, however, lacks these qualities. Take Piper Perabo’s Julia George for example. One minute she’s the hard hitting producer who is not afraid to call BS or blindside someone on national news, and the next she’s soft and is too afraid to run a story because of its content (in this case, the fact that her ex-boyfriend, a federal judge, is a frequenter of escort services). Julia is kept ambiguous for a reason. She does terrible things like deciding who to vilify or anglicize based solely on ratings and her pal Jake’s opinion/need, but the show’s execs want us to like her still. Almost like they’ve never heard of a popular anti-hero (hello Dexter and Breaking Bad). It is okay to make her good cop to Jake’s bad cop or vice versa, just as long as a side is picked.…

time the trimester rolled around. This conversation stemmed directly from an interaction with Devon, who had questions about assignments he had failed to complete in the few days before. What is his family support network like? Do we know why he hasn’t completed these assignments yet? Is he understanding what…

opposing view. The song Good Cop Bad Cop by Starlito and Don trip gives insight to the widespread spectrum of corruption in police and their brutality against African Americans. Not all cops are bad Police Officers: Courageous, strong, brave, amazing people, but to some they are all brutal, evil, horrible people. Not since the 1960s have police been subjected to so much criticism, disaffection, and public abuse (Moore). Yet, not all cops are bad people like people tend to think. A good majority of police are honest, caring, loving people that love their job, protecting us and their city from harm. Of course, there are the handful of officers that abuse their power,…

"When I was little, I was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Both my lungs were shutting down. I was gonna die. So they took out both my dying lungs and gave me a single lung from an Unwind."..."Like I said, the lung's got asthma. It was the best we could afford." The most important part of the quote said by Zachary is the best we could afford. It shows an example that the society is doing some business out of dead kids. They had to lower the price of the lungs to make it cheaper for people…
