We all know that bullying is bad. It is a cause of depression and teen suicide. But have you ever wondered what was the cause of someone becoming a bully? Before we explain what causes bullying, we need know what bullying. Bullying is undesired and hostile behavior among children in school that involves a real or perceived power balance. This behavior has the potential to repeat over time. There are 4 types of bullying, physical bullying, verbal bullying, social bullying, and cyberbullying. Physical bullying includes making physical harm to the victim. Verbal bullying includes name calling, insults, teasing, homophobic and racist remarks, and verbal abuse. Social bullying, also known as covert bullying, which damages the victim’s social reputation and causes humiliation. Cyberbullying, which is similar to social bullying that includes using digital devices. The causes of bullying are so the bullies can hide their true feelings, bullies are unaware about how they feel, and some bullies come from dysfunctional families.
Most people believe that bullies are just bad people. They think bullies are bad from the beginning and stay bad as they grow up. This is a common misconception of bullies. Bullies may be bad people but most don’t start bad. Bullies have their reasons for doing the things they do.One example is that bullies come from dysfunctional families. They have parents who are aggressive to other people such as friends or family.
