Is Suspending Cyber-bullies A Good A Or Bad Idea? Is suspending cyber-bullies a good or bad idea? Huh, that’s a good question. Personally, for me, my opinion is that it is a good idea for cyber-bullies to get suspended. You are not legally allowed to suspend children for cyber-bullying if it doesn’t happen on a school campus. Cyber-bullying is one of the most reason a teen commits suicide. In-school bullying would be a suspension, so why can’t out of school bullying be a suspension. Many schools are now in a difficult position of having to respond to a mandate to have a cyberbullying policy, without much guidance from the state about the circumstances under which they can respond. Many states have taken the easy way out by simply passing laws saying effectively “schools need to deal with this.” They have done a bad job at providing specific instructions or even a framework from which schools can evaluate their role. Some states are now requiring schools to educate students and staff about cyberbullying or online safety more generally, but have provided no funding to carry out such activities. 20% of kids that are cyber bullied think about suicide. 1 in 10 suicidal cyber bullied kids attempt suicide. 4500 kids commit suicide each year. Suicide is the third most common killer of teens in the United States. Amanda Todd is a girl who as cyber bullied and later she hung herself. If schools want their students to start committing suicide, than I guess they shouldn’t want cyber bullies to be suspended. Principals and superintendents should create a rule that prevents cyberbullying from happening; and if you're gonna make a rule you need to act upon someone that doesn't follow
