and in retaliation for these blatant acts of defiance, the king sieged control of the farming villages in his Kingdom, cutting off his people’s food supply. Feeling weak from starvation and the constant fear of death, several came forward and spoke the names and whereabouts of the guilty responsible for committing these horrendous acts against him. Although the animosity and unrest continued to worsen in his Kingdom, King David did not waver in granting those who came forward with mercy. Despite their lives being in peril, the movement continued to thrive with Joan besting King David and his men; but once the treaty was signed. The movement lost their stronghold over the two Kingdoms and in the end, their leaders offered King David and King Phillip a truce. Leaping at the chance to end the warfare, the two Kings agreed to pardon members of the movement and release those in captivity. No one dares mention the movement or Joan’s role in it-in fear of retribution from the Kings. IT WAS A BUSY DAY in the market, the entire village of Masonburge was moving hastily throughout. always stay with me. The concrete in front of the apartment overlooking the park is separated into squares and covered in old gum and the occasional chalk doodle. You walk in the clear glass door and walk onto the faded tile floor that goes from the bottom of the few lonely stairs through the next door and to the elevator. You feel the cold from the faded brass handrail and walk up the…
