He conveys this through the story of Howard Moskowitz, an American market researcher and psychophysicist. Moskowitz worked with the Pepsi company to try and come up with the perfect amount of aspartame to put in their Diet Pepsi. Through many experiments he couldn’t find the right amount and one day it hit him, “They were looking for the perfect Pepsi, and they should have been looking for the perfect Pepsis”(Gladwell). Moskowitz had to recognize that not every person had the same tastes so there was no one “perfect Pepsi.” Like the many roads to success, there are many Pepsi that need to be made to satisfy everyone who drinks Pepsi. Moskowitz also looked at different spaghetti sauces. Moskowitz helped open the door for the different sauces and helped a couple sauce companies like Ragú and Prego to have all these different sauces and be even more successful than when they have the one universal sauce for everyone. Gladwell, through these stories, helped convey that there isn’t one universal way to obtain success. Just like the Pepsi and spaghetti sauces, there is variability, for every person there is a different way to gain…
