    adventure begins when Luke and his uncle Owen buy two droids, C-3PO and R2-D2. R2-D2 carries Princess Leia’s plea for help. While cleaning R2-D2, Luke plays a hologram of the Princess’ calling for help “Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope” (Lucas 1977). Old Ben Kenobi is a name Luke has heard that name before. When he asked his uncle Owen, he refused to talk about the Old Ben Kenobi saying he was dead. He doesn’t want Luke to go to this journey, to leave them and never come back. Luke hasn’t realized, but he has been called to an adventure, his hero’s journey. Luke with the help of C-3PO goes to the dessert to find R2-D2 who kept babbling about his mission and disappeared. When they find him, Luke encounters sand people and is attacked. Obi Wan Kenobi saves him and asks Luke to come with him to Alderan. This is where the adventure begins. Luke has been drawn to this quest, to his hero’s journey to become a man, save the princess, and the entire galaxy. Every hero needs Supernatural Aid. Luke’s supernatural aid it’s Obi Wan Kenobi. Joseph Campbell in his Monomyth explains what it means to be a Supernatural aid, “Once the hero has committed to the quest, consciously or unconsciously, his or her guide and magical helper appears, or becomes known” (“The 17 Stages Chart”).
