Pellaeon’s board pinged. He looked at it- “Sir, we have a priority message coming in from Wayland,” he told Thrawn, his stomach with a sudden horrible premonition.
“Read it, Captain,” Thrawn said his voice deadly quiet.
“Decrypt is coming in now, sir,” Pellaeon said. “The mountain is under attack, sir,” he told Thrawn. “Two different forces of natives, some rebel saboteurs and-” He broke off, frowning in disbelief. “A group of Noghri-”
Pellaeon never finished reading the report because a gray hand grabbed him by the neck, it was Thrawn’s Noghri bodyguard; Rukh, “The Empire’s treachery against the Noghri people shall be no more!” He threw Pellaeon down to the floor and ran out of the bridge.
Pellaeon got up, still gasping for air
