Luke Skywalker: The Hero's Journey

After many near death experiences, saving the Princess, and creating a better life for others, Luke Skywalker is definitely a hero. Luke is a teenager who lived with his aunt and uncle. He would work for his uncle as a farmer. He heard of Princess Leia when he met R2-D2 and C3PO. R2D2 projected a hologram of Princess Leia asking Obi-wan-kenobi for help. Luke wanted Princess Leia, but she was captured by Darth Vader, so he went on an adventure to save her. However, this is where the refusal of call comes in. It is getting late and Luke has to return home. However, a tragedy happens at home, leaving Luke to go. He leaves his home with allies such as Obi Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, R2D2, Chewbacca, and C3PO. The first part, which is the departure, follows right along with it. The departure was a sure interesting part of the movie. Luke is called to adventure when he meets R2D2 and C3PO. R2D2 projects a hologram of Princess Leia asking Obi Wan Kenobi for help. Luke also wants to help. Luke’s mentor, Obi Wan Kenobi gives Luke a lightsaber, and he insists on Luke coming. However, this is when the refusal of call comes in. Luke refuses the offer, because it is late, and he needs to get home so his aunt and uncle will not worry. He does head home, only to find his house burned, and everyone dead. This leaves Luke without a reason not to go. They finally have a real departure, and leaves on Han Solo’s ship. Han Solo is an Allie Luke and Obi Wan Kenobi met at a bar. They also met his furry friend, Chewbacca. Some more allies also tag along with the rest, such as R2D2, and C3PO. The moment everyone was waiting for finally happened. The crossing of the threshold happened when Luke stepped foot on Han Solo’s ship, The Millennial Falcon. Luke’s Allies, Han Solo, Chewbacca, R2D2, and C3PO step on with him. Luke is also followed by his mentor, Obi Wan Kenobi. As you can see, the departure follows right along with The Hero’s Journey storyline. It is perfectly laid out with each and every part of the
