As a whole, my experience with mathematics has been a positive one. However, I came to this assumption largely based upon the good grades that I received and the positive feelings that came from seeing those good grades. I think the real reason I like math is because there is a right answer and you can always find out whether or not you reached that correct answer. I was affirmed time and time again for having reached correct answers. However, how deep of an understanding did I have of why the…
class was probably one of my favorite elementary classes because I had my best guy friend, Cameron, in the class, and it was obviously an easy class for me. I remember whenever we colored anything or did any drawings, my teacher would always compliment my coloring abilities because I knew how to color within the lines; all the other kids had scribbles outside of the lines and their drawings would not be as neat as mine. Cameron and another boy named Jordy were my favorite people in the class and…
since 1st but I used to attend a school in Boonville. I like Pilot Grove because it is a small school and I know everyone here. Another reason I like Pilot Grove is because all of the teachers are nice and most of the students. I have many strengths and weaknesses. My strengths are sports and I am pretty smart. Some of my weaknesses are cooking and I am not very good at cutting or taping. I am very excited to be a middle schooler and can’t wait to see what the year brings me. I have a wonderful…
Makes Good Early childhood Teachers” by Sally Cartwright writes about how she traveled New Zealand and met other teachers as she visited five kindergartens. During her trip she conversed with other teachers from New Zealand and they came to the conclusion that both American and New Zealand schools struggle to obtain first-rate teachers. This discussion led to the group of educators to derive a list of the values and qualities that typically make up a first rate teacher. Summary and Discussion…
wanna be a teacher!” If you have known me for any length of time, chances are you 've heard me say this! Many, like Aunt Sandy, have told me that 's what I was born to do! Ever since I can remember I 've wanted to be a teacher. Sure, I 've had other aspirations along the way; (writer, veterinarian, physiologist, anything at Disney World, chef, the list goes on!) but, the one that truly stuck was teacher! I 'm sure this dream started in 1st grade and was heightened in 4th. My favorite teacher…
SL: Reflection Ms. Battistella is a wonderful person and I had a splendid time with her. We grew so much closer and I learned more about her. I could relate to her in so many ways that was wasn’t on my mind. She is one of my favorite teacher when I was in elementary school and taught me about life lessons, like to not focus on the pass or dream about the future, just for now focus on the present. Also, she encouraged and inspired people to do better and always say to kids that there is no such…
Teaching (Behavior Analyst Certification Board, 2012). My submission for this content area is the Relias instructional video that was completed during SPE 565, which demonstrated errorless teaching. Errorless teaching is a teaching method which limits the learner’s ability to make errors. The learner is prompted to respond correctly. The learner receives the highest level of assistance to ensure the target response occurs. The teacher or therapist does not permit the learner to choose the…
Looking back at my student teaching for the past 5 weeks, I do not think I had any painful moments in a post-conference with my Supervisor. The conversation with my Supervisor was always pleasant. The recommendations of my Supervisor helped me to become more effective in the classroom. I have had trouble with interacting with one individual who does not respect me and my master teacher. I am always worried about instructional planning with my master teacher and delivery of a lesson to the whole…
in with teachers to make sure that what they have learned is used in the classroom. Also teachers would be encouraged to present to staff what they have learned at trainings. The third standard is about managing the operational systems of the school. This requires a leader to have good relationships with staff and students. As a leader, one needs to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable doing their role. I would assign a committee to help me with student discipline to help teacher…
Math has been my favorite academic subject since elementary school. Wanting to improve and sharpen my math skills, I have been enrolled in a math tutoring facility called Mathnasium since the seventh grade. After going for a few years now, I have realized how much I enjoy learning new math concepts and dive into whatever challenges the next level holds. My tutors have always been encouraged me throughout my time at Mathnasium. Now, I know I am not perfect at math, but I do learn from my mistakes…
