There was a new family that moved in behind me and they had a little girl named Ashlyn that was in the same grade as me. It was around October when they moved in and I was so happy to have another girl in the neighborhood. She ended up being in my same class as me and we sat next to each other the whole year. Since my teacher, Mrs. McConnell and her husband taught in the same school, they decided to pair up once a month and have “grade buddies”. Mr. McConnell taught fourth grade and Mrs. McConnell taught second, so my buddy was obviously older than me. Since we got the buddies in the beginning of the year, Ashlyn did not have one when she came into the class, so her and I ended up sharing my buddy and just doing all the activities in a group of three. Ashlyn and I became the bestest of friends that year and basically did everything together. I loved the teachers I was switching with, but it was just a bit odd that I had to go to two other people instead of my main teacher. My home room teacher, Mrs. Rowland, was one of my favorite teachers in elementary school because she was the sweetest of them all and acted like a mom whenever in class. She always made sure everyone was okay and that everyone understood what was happening before we moved onto another subject. She was all around a great teacher and I loved being in her class every moment. She helped prepare all of us for the upcoming year going into sixth grade and taught us everything we needed to know. It was really sad thinking about leaving elementary school and going into middle school, but in the end I was finally growing up and moving on in my
