Struggles are lessons that bring blessings to people that make them stronger, and able
to appreciate life more. When people go through struggles it makes them emotionally stronger.
In fact, throughout high school, my mom was an alcoholic and was never home. We constantly
argued about everything all the time. Experiencing this for years , I got fed up with it; which led
me to experimenting with drugs , started skipping school, and started hanging out with the
wrong group of people. The addiction that I was facing got so bad I started doing it at school
and got caught, suspended and eventually got sent to rehab. The experience I went through
made me a lot smarter about the choices I make. My mom got help with her addiction and our
relationship grew stronger. I, an almost drop out student decided to go back to school and got
my work done. Graduated on time and now I 'm a sophomore in college with a healthy
relationship with my wonderful , sober mother who also has been sober herself for 2 years.
Battling this stress caused by my addiction was a drag on my happiness, which made me want
to give up on everything. Rewarding part of this struggle made me the person I am today,
happy. This obstacle taught a lesson to not do the things that caused harm to myself or others
around me and also brought a blessing, my mom and I are closer than ever.
As a matter of fact, individuals may be in situations that are hard to get through. It could
be fighting a disease, a horrible relationship…
John M. Darley and Bibb Latane 's essay, "When will people help in a crisis?" could argue that people have become cold and should open their eyes to what is going on around them so they do not neglect the people surrounding them. We should agree with Darley and Lanate because there are people who choose to ignore those around them even when those people are being abused.
One point Darley and Latane make is that American ideology is a leading cause of a lack of response when someone is in need.…
"Bang!" "Bang!" The sound of the cowpuncher's revolver rang out, along with the sheriff, Henry. The cool autumn air was filled with sounds of gunfire and the loud barks of Remy, Nelly's faithful dog and companion.
"No, get back!" she screamed.
"Put your weapon down, son. We've gotcha now, and there's nothing else you can do, 'cept turn yourself in," said Henry.
The young man, Joe, stood with his revolver pointed straight at the face of Sheriff Henry. Panting and angry, he spit out…
“Sorry Hector. “ I said standing straighter. “Let’s get started. I have some questions, and I am going to need a map. The more detailed the map of the city, the better. I will also need something he used every day.”
“This is our investigation.” Erik hissed at me once more.
“Yes and look at how much you accomplished.” I rolled my eyes. “You idiots don’t even know who took him. Let alone have a plan.”

“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flow from heaven to the soul (Monet).” Feeling good was originally written in 1965, by Nina Simone. This song has been used in the popular culture such as, “Point of No Return” and “Six Feet Under”. A song cover was later done by Jennifer Hudson in 2011, and Lauryn Hill in 2015. Addressing a mass amount of people in hopes to produce a clear and concise message is achievable using proper public rhetoric. “Aristotle saw the function of rhetoric as the discovery in each case of the available means of persuasion” (Griffin, 2012). Ancient rhetoricians have produce principals that guide this art of persuasion that allow the message to be clear, concise, and persuasive. The cannons of rhetoric are invention, arrangement, style, memory, and delivery. By using all five cannons,…
As said by Bertrand Russell, “War does not determine who is right - only who is left.”
It took me by surprise when I was walking by a store there happened to be a young man in a ragged united states military uniform sitting on the ground with a coffee can in between his boots.
“Spare change for a soldier?”, Asked the young man. He looked up and asked a woman walking by.
“Oh, you poor dear, All I have is 5 dollars on me”, said the woman with a doleful look on her face.
I happened to be…
tour and released another album which contained the single "Yellow" which was an instant hit in both the US and the UK. This was the first song that was played on the radio, which is a big deal. In 2002, just four years after their first album release, Coldplay was invited to their first Grammy Awards Show, where they won Best Alternative Music Album for "Parachutes". In 2003, they were invited to the Grammy Awards again and this time asked to perform. They performed with the New York…
