"Bang!" "Bang!" The sound of the cowpuncher's revolver rang out, along with the sheriff, Henry. The cool autumn air was filled with sounds of gunfire and the loud barks of Remy, Nelly's faithful dog and companion. "No, get back!" she screamed. "Put your weapon down, son. We've gotcha now, and there's nothing else you can do, 'cept turn yourself in," said Henry. The young man, Joe, stood with his revolver pointed straight at the face of Sheriff Henry. As soon as the words came out of Joe's mouth, he scooted his feet, his face became reddened and flustered, and he spoke, "There's …show more content…
I have nothing to say to a coward like you, nor would I like to hear it!" Suddenly, Camden piped up and said,"Wait now, Henry, what's all this rubbish? I mean... there's no way you actually.. know him, is there sheriff?..... Is there?" The sheriff hangs his head, returns his gun back into its holster, and leans up against one of Nelly's racing barrels in the shed. "Yep. It's true. I know this feller. Fine feller, he is. Fire in a Canebrake Review After the ratification of the thirteen amendment on December 6, 1865, race problems were over in America? Obviously not, even though you hear people in 2015 say it was. 1. " The youth kept the bright colors to the front. He was waving his free arm in furious circles, the while shrieking mad calls and appeals, urging on those that did not need to be urged, for it seemed that the mob of blue men hurling themselves on the dangerous group of rifles were again grown suddenly wild with an enthusiasm of unselfishness. From the many firings starting toward them, it looked as if they would merely succeed in making a great sprinkling of corpses on the grass between their former position and the fence. But they were in a state of frenzy, perhaps because of forgotten vanities, and it made an exhibition of sublime recklessness.…

A cloud of dust follows the lone white horse galloping into town, ridden by none other than the county’s finest lawman.…

I was born on October 12th, 1962, right between the Bay of Pigs incident and President John F. Kennedy’s assassination. I was born on Hamilton Air Force Base in California, a place which no longer exists. I wonder how many people can appreciate that. Over the years I have heard people say, you can’t go home, or it’s not like you remember.…
