Many game wardens do not like to admit they do not like other law enforcement but it is true, but when tragedy presents itself, they do work well with other federal and state law enforcement officials. Game Wardens are also responsible for creating different laws and regions. But most importantly they are responsible for teaching the public hunting, fishing and boating safety. Other duties that apply are, search and rescue, managing natural resources, and holding hunting, fishing and boating courses to the public. Requirements to become a South Carolina state game warden one must need a bachelor’s degree in a criminal justice or wildlife management degree. One must be familiar with the laws and rules in wildlife so they know what to look for out on the job. One must be 21 years of age and must be a US citizen. No tattoos must be visible while wearing the South Carolina game warden outfit and also no prior convictions or run into with the law. They require one to attend one type of criminal justice academy, just like any other law enforcement career. They also require a 10 year driving record statement from the DMV. They require it is very important to have prior knowledge of both federal state boating, hunting and fishing laws.
