Fourth Grade – It was a crisp day in early fall. The wind was blowing softly. The fourth graders were lined up outside, ready to go in after a fun day of recess, eager to get away from the chilliness. The fifth graders were already outside, engaging in a rowdy, yet fun game of kickball. The anticipation of going inside lead to no one noticing how a boy kicked the red ball too far out, and it went above the young grade of children. I stood in the line, unknowing of my fate of meeting that very ball. I awaited the time whenever we would go outside, the fact that I forgot my jacket added to my impatient ways. I looked up, unsuspecting. Then all of a sudden, I felt something collide with my face, a sharp pain rushing through my nose. Tears…
“Whoever is trying to bring you down is already below you” -Boonaa Mohammed When you’re in fourth grade, you’re free to be whatever you want. You can dream to be a doctor, fireman, or maybe even a mermaid. In fourth grade you are allowed to act however you want and dress like you want to. Dreaming is what makes fourth graders happy. Unfourtly some children aren’t raised that way. Their lives are so chaotic and messy they don’t have time to dream. So, they begin to envy the ones to can. They…
Fourth grade has been the hardest year I've faced while being in school. Not because I didn't have the ability to keep my grades up but because I was involved in an accident. That really affected my mindset about school. At this time your going into fifth grade, becoming the big dogs of the school! Here's what happened, so on August 28, 2009 my siblings and I was helping my mom and her job volunteer to reconstruct a families home. Me being a person that absolutely loves food I was excited…

I went to barranca mesa elementary school in twenty ten. In first grade I got into GATE gifted and talented education. In second grade GATE meant that I missed some things so I was expected to catch up by myself and that is what I did. In third I had a teacher that loved science so I really got into my element I…
“Assessment of Physical Activity Levels of 3rd and 4th Grade Children Using Pedometers during Physical Education Class” 1. This research study was also found on the ERIC database. After reading and analyzing two studies that discussed strategies on encouraging physical activity and/or education in the schools, the importance of who is teaching the class, and then also the support the school gets for physical activity, I found this study interesting since it dealt with the actual physical…

When I was in the third grade my parents had split up and my mom decided to go live with her boyfriend in fountain, and my dad stayed in Denver and move in with my grandma. When they split up I was upset but I didn’t really have any feelings about them splitting up, but when my mom told me I would have to move from everything I had ever known that’s what really hit me. I remember having to beg her to let me stay for my fourth grade year and finally she let me but the deal was if I stayed for…
The Slap It was a typical winter day in 4th grade. My friends and I were sitting at an oddly shaped table which we called it ‘the kidney bean table’ when the biggest drama of 4th grade occurred. One of my best friends, Abby Pirkl, had a boyfriend named Jimmy. They were ‘dating’ for what seemed an eternity when out of the blue Jimmy did the unthinkable ; Jimmy showed another girl his ‘4th grade abs’ which caused one of the biggest scandals of the 4th Grade. Jimmy, in everyone’s eyes, cheated on…
Academic/Classroom -12/16 Angel is a kind and friendly fifth grade student who is continuing to build upon his effort to make progress in school. Angel takes a lot of pride in the accomplishments that he makes and works well for positive feedback. He has the tendency to get discouraged when he is confused, but tries very hard when the effort he puts in is being acknowledged. Although he is often afraid to make mistakes, Angel enjoys participating in class and will occasionally encourage his…
Everyone has a reason why they chose the career they did. I like to think my reasoning is special, sad but special. Some people decided it because they just like the job, but I had a life changing experience that decided it for me. I decided in fifth grade that I wanted to help people when I grow up and that has been my plan ever since. The exact careers I have picked has changed, but they all had to do with helping people. There are always things that happen in our lives that impact us greatly…
