When you’re in fourth grade, you’re free to be whatever you want. You can dream to be a doctor, fireman, or maybe even a mermaid. In fourth grade you are allowed to act however you want and dress like you want to. Dreaming is what makes fourth graders happy. Unfourtly some children aren’t raised that way. Their lives are so chaotic and messy they don’t have time to dream. So, they begin to envy the ones to can. They begin to hate those dreamers because they don’t understand.

I was one of the dreamers with people describing me with my head always in the clouds, unfortunately I had met one of those girls who disliked the dreamers. I would have probably stayed clear of her if it wasn’t for my best friend, Riley. She became very close friends with this girl so I hung out with her. I decided to give her a chance.
Everything was great until her birthday in october. Back in fourth grade if you brought birthday cards to class you had to give them to everyone. Strolling into class when I saw the girl handing out birthday cards. She walked past my desk with a smug look on her face when I had approached her and asked if she meant to give me one too. Without a second glance she uttered a simple sentence, “No, you didn’t quite make the cut” Those words broke me. I had tried my hardest to impress her and my class but it hadn’t worth is. The next weeks were unbearable. She cut me off from my friends and remade rude words to me whenever she could.
