In academics, it is common for universities and universities to start contacting high school students who are beginning to think about university. Letters, emails, phone calls, and social media are all part of the experience for the prospectus to alumnus. It is important to a successful recruitment strategy to consider the key messages to communicate, the intended audience, and how the message is delivered (Whitehead, 2012). In fact, universities are leveraging social media in order to further strengthen the relationships, connect individuals at all phases in the cycle, and finding ways to facilitate authentic communication (Foulger, 2014). The lack of engagement of Black alumni at Cornell University in university-sponsored alumni association events may be caused by the campus environment that Black alumni experienced while attending as students. These university sponsored alumni events are meant to engage all alumni, however several Black alumni have stated that as students, they did not feel part of the campus culture and therefore have had no interest in participating in events that do not represent their particular interests. …

Volunteer and Staff Support Beta Nu Chapter at Ohio State University will receive specialized support and resources to develop a high-functioning chapter that is in alignment with the values of the Fraternity and Ohio State University. A team of staff and volunteer experts has been identified to re-establish Beta Nu Chapter. An occupational therapist reported that self-regulated learning strategies helped a junior high student with a learning disability (Cahill, 2008). The student was trained in three learning strategies: self-observation, self-evaluation, and self-reaction (Cahill, 2008). As a Beta Zeta alumnus, you may know the story of the late Ray Ewry, who we’re all proud to share a history with. In 1896, Ray joined the chapter as a graduate student at Purdue, and that was the beginning of a lifelong commitment to the Fraternity. On November 2nd I attended a presentation given by David Eubank, a former U.S Army Special Forces and Ranger Officer, and an alumnus of Texas A&M University. Currently, he is the director for the Free Burma Rangers (FBR), an organization that offers humanitarian aid to those in the Burma, Kurdistan, and Sudan war zone.
