For most people the first thing you look at when you meet someone for the first time is their face. When Ms. Breedlove first saw Cholly that’s exactly what she looked at according to the book on page 114;“He came big, he came strong, he came with yellow eyes, flaring nostrils, and he came with his own music”. When the author said Cholly had came with his own music she meant that he seemed confident and free. It was unusual to see a young black man who was confident and free especially if they were living in a world that was against them. This attracted Mrs. Breedlove and it didn’t take a long time for her to fall in love with him. However, over time Cholly didn’t seem so confident and free. On page 38 it says “Cholly, whose ugliness (the result of despair, dissipation, and violence directed toward petty things and weak people) was behavior..” Although Cholly didn’t look like his emotions at first sight, he easily reflected them over time. Cholly’s behavior had also contributed to his speech.“Don’t try me this morning, man. You say one more word, and I’ll split you open!”pg 41. This quote shows just how aggressive Cholly actually is. Cholly doesn’t seem to care the way he affected others and it is especially shown on page 149 “Cholly wanted to strangle her, but instead he touched her leg with his foot. “We got to get, girl. Come on!””. Cholly had just had sex with Darlene in front of white men not worrying about how she felt. Cholly has no problems showing aggressiveness in…
An evolving industrialized nation can sprout both negative and positive effects. Technology continues to progress through time and evolve our species, but its triumphs can bring chaos when put into the hands of an immoral individual. For example, Richard Reid, also known as the infamous “Shoe-Bomber”, used his expertise with technology to craft an improvised explosive device (IED) to attempt to kill 197 passengers on American Airlines Flight 63 (Shoe bomber NBC). Technology continues to adapt…
It was very difficult to pick a short story this week. I like all of them. However. the one I chose was Flannery O’Connor “A Good Man is Hard to find”. For starters, the title caught my attention and was eager to find out the details. There are many different elements of literature in the short story like the symbol (the grandmother hat), themes (the definition of a good man), and motif which is used to help the theme. An example of this in the story would be that a good man was easier to come…
Staging of mesothelioma Doctors use four primary stages to determine the riskiness of a mesothelioma diagnosis, classified as stage I, II, III or IV. You have more options of treatment if you are diagnosed in stage I or II than if you are diagnosed in stage III or IV. What is the importance of mesothelioma staging? Well, there are factors like determining if a patient should have a surgery or not, determining which options of treatment are available and which are not available, and even knowing…
blogger, blogged that a person has these memories when their past collides with their future. Another article dismissed it as something similar in a past life, having happened to someone, and triggering the memory in this life. When I finish, with my research, I still don’t understand these déjà vu experiences, but at least they were starting to be less alarming. I’ve begun to play with them, thereby completely changing what I’m remembering, and what is happening. Yet, I feel like I’m in…
worth it, do I have to do this?” Billy grabbed the hanging rope dangled from her window sill and made his way to the second floor of the Trechfield’s home. Consequently, the four cheeseburgers he had for dinner, did not agree with the exercise he was not used to. “Billy, only two more feet, you are almost here. Keep pulling yourself up, but watch your shins of the pointy fence wire.” Obviously her warning was not enough because when he fell through her window, blood covered his ripped jeans.…

that then accidently flies out of the character’s apartment window so he nearly risks his life not only to save the paper, but his own career as well. In the process of getting this paper, Tom reflects on the fact that he is always so full of himself and his work so much and he doesn’t leave any room for others in his life and this causes him to become more appreciative and caring for those…
Margarita’s face turn crimson and she did a quick walkthrough of NSL to ascertain the extent of the damage. She found no further evidence of damage to the office or the lab. Repairing the broken window was inconsequential financially to NSL's budget since business insurance coverage would discharge the required expenses. If not, she could dip into NSL’s rainy-day fund to replace the window pane. Nevertheless, as a precaution, Margarita dialed 911 to report the vandalism at NSL. She did this…
Fragments of broken glass from sources like windowpanes, and plate glass doors, have slightly different densities. (Bureau of Forensic Services, 2011) If a burglary has occurred, and glass has fallen onto the floor, and the suspect burglar was near the glass when it shattered, perhaps small fragments of glass can be found ensconced in the suspect clothing, particularly in the lower trouser leg areas or the soles of his shoes. (Bureau of Forensic Services, 2011) When a suspect is apprehended and…
