Margarita was nonplus. She doubted what happened. Where was it? Whose hands it might be in. For all she knew was her husband might have taken it from the safe. Apart from her, only he knew the key code. He might have traded it with Wein Xin.
“Where’s your husband?”
“He’s going to Kansas City to participate in a conference with Dr Alex Cord.
That was Roger’s cue to get into action.
He got off his hands.
And at what seemed as a pounce at light speed, Roger was at Margarita’s side. And Roger’s assault surprised her, too. So much for hiss word. Margarita’s split second of hesitation was enough for Roger to turn the tables on her. He grabbed her gun hand, twisted it counterclockwise and the gun fell to her feet, on the tiled floor with a clanking

“What’s not here?”
“The KEG sequence.”

Chapter 21

Roger Nelson phoned Agent Winston Powell who was still in C.E. Mason’s lab, where he was scrounging about for information on C.E. Mason’s research. Agent Powell shared information about his meeting with Margarita Mason, omitting the details of the gun, but emphasizing the fact that the KEG went missing. He made Agent Powell admit that Mrs. Margarita had been instructed by the FBI—his boss—to “keep an eye” on her husband’s work to make sure it didn’t get into foreign hands.
Since Roger had bugged on C.E. Mason’s car, Agent Powell knew that C.E. Mason had gone to the Dulles International. Then tapping into the airline’s booking electronic database, they found he had made reservations to fly to the Midwest: “What in the hell for?”
“He’s en route to Kansas City.”
“We know that. But why?”
“To present a paper at a conference, his wife said.” Roger said.
“What chutzpah!” Agent Powell exclaimed: “He gotta know we’re watching him. He’s being so—”
“Cavalier?” Roger interjected.
“Yep, cavalier or something about all this,” Agent Powell agreed. “And he might be operating under the presumption you still don’t know what he’s up

Margarita’s face turn crimson and she did a quick walkthrough of NSL to ascertain the extent of the damage. She found no further evidence of damage to the office or the lab. Repairing the broken window was inconsequential financially to NSL's budget since business insurance coverage would discharge the required expenses. If not, she could dip into NSL’s rainy-day fund to replace the window pane. Nevertheless, as a precaution, Margarita dialed 911 to report the vandalism at NSL. She did this since prudence demanded it provide a paper trail: An investigation into this incident would establish official proof of the vandalism. What’s more, for the record, she took pictures of her own of the broken window, the rock and the written note just in case she needed them at a later

This book that reads like an exciting spy action movie, tells all about how the course of history was changed by General Washington’s battle of wits against the British forces. The authors tell us this story to make their point crystal clear: Without the Culper Spy Ring, we would’ve lost the America Revolution. Although Peltier was found guilty for the death of the two agents, the argument of the documentary is compelling because the evidence proving Peltier guilty was either fabricated or tampered with by the FBI which gave the trial an unfair, biased outcome. The documentary does a good job raising questions about the FBI’s prosecution of Peltier and what had happened on the day of June 26th, 1975. On this day, two FBI agents by the names of Jack Coler and Ron Williams were said to be following behind the vehicle driven by a suspect of a stolen pair of cowboy boots. The agents followed this red pick-up truck onto the hostile Pine Ridge Reservation, Jumping Bull Ranch, where the shootout began when several Indians identified the agents in an unidentified vehicle.…

Agent Shaw, who'd so far been disciplined in controlling his expression, let out a soft, light-hearted chuckle. Unlike Morrow's supervisor, Ben appreciated a man who wasn't afraid to speak his mind. "Well, we haven't really had people queuing up for the job if that's what you mean. " The agent across from him had stood up, so he followed suit, standing up straight like a man built with purpose, and began packing up his things. Morrow had made it quite clear he'd rather cut the pleasantries and skip to the action, even if he wasn't at all enthralled by his new assignment.…
