North Cape has influenced me by opening me up to other people. I was really shy when I first came here, still am, but over time I've learned to talk to people. Along with that I've learned values and knowledge that I will retain for the rest of my life. It will feel weird to not go here next year. North Cape has pretty much been my life for the past nine years. My dad and his sister went there when they were kids along with my sister. Granted, the teachers who taught them have come and gone, but the values haven't. I've had so many memories with everyone here. Everyone is different, but for the most part, they are friendly. Most of my friends I've known since kindergarten and others came in later. Mike A and Brett are my two best friends.…
by the people who surround us, and sculpted by our environment. Whether it be our teachers, family or strangers we meet in passing, never to be seen again. I was influenced by someone I never met. His name is Gibby, a character from a children’s TV series. Ever since the day I was nicknamed Gibby I have developed a since of confidence, the ability to love, and speak the truth. I would never have had these attributes, let alone appreciate them if it wasn’t for Gibby. Voices talking in the…
and negativity all the time. Throughout my nineteen years. I have met many people who have influenced me. One person though really stands out. No this person isn’t my mom or dad. Which they both are really important and have influenced me in so many ways, I can’t even thank them enough for everything. I have decided to write about somebody who has always been there to keep me on track and pushing me to do better. He has been my coach, teacher, principle, but most important someone I can count…
Have you ever played a sport and wanted to give up but there was reason why you didn't. One important belief/value I hold is that I believe that if never giving up you ultimately don't lose. When I was at a young age I first started to play football. When I first started football I wasn't good because I had a terrible coach who didn't teach me the fundamentals of football and a that point I had wanted to quit But my parents encouraged me not to.When I first started football I wasn't good…
decided at birth by their genetics, or influenced and shaped by the life experiences? Was Frankenstein’s monster inherently evil, or was he driven by the misfortunes he faced? The debate of nature versus nurture is one of the oldest arguments in the history of psychology, and it raises these questions of why we do what we do and how we become the people we are. Nature is the argument that a person’s personality is solely determined by genetics and inherited traits. It’s the belief that who…

The question "who am I" is by far the most important question that we can ask ourselves in our daily lives. It not only relates to the subject of identity but the everything and everyone who has a certain effect towards you in life. Even though identity is not the only attribute that defines and/or shapes us, it does, however, represent a big part of who we are. In my life, a numerous amount of events, people, and decisions have assisted in influencing me to be the person I am today. Simple…

identity of who they are and it is slowly developed as we grow. From when we are born to grown adults we take in everything around us which molds and shapes into who we are. From everything in our lives we all have those couple of things which consider the biggest influences in our lives. Whether something as simple as a book, movie, family member, or a person we briefly knew that touched our lives like nothing else has. Personally a film and two people I have had in my life that influenced me…
understand why it has earned that rank. Out of the many books that have shaped partially who I am, how I think, and how I behave, I think that the Bible deserves to be recognized as the one book that has transformed who I have become. It is challenging to mention that this compilation of books have influenced me the most only because of the diverse views that exist regarding the book. However, the Bible has not only transformed my spiritual life and what I freely choose to believe in, but the…
