    Students and teachers... don 't mix. As inane as it may sound, there 's a disparity between the student-teacher relationship we imagine and what actually goes on in the classroom. I 've never had any issues with my teachers, but in my experience, people I know seem to have issues with theirs. They preach to me that a teacher 's method of lecturing is ineffective and that their declining grade point average is entirely the fault of said teacher. Furthermore, after sitting in prep classes and tutoring dozens of students ranging from different ages, a common trend that is manifesting in classrooms that I see, is the miscommunication between educator and student. A paradigm of lack of interest and effort; a course of failure and frustration, and both teachers and students are to blame for this. The former lacks awareness and the latter lacks engagement and when you combine the two, little interaction and learning will occur and a vicious cycle is born. Both teachers and students have their inadequacies, and only by realizing them and fixing them can the vicious cycle be disrupted. Generally, a good amount of students don 't take interest in school and don 't realize the importance of an education in today 's society, and I 'm not talking about a diploma or the stuff you learn in textbooks, but rather the ability of common sense, the skill to follow instructions, and the capacity to think for one’s self.
