Miscommunication Between Teacher And Teachers

Students and teachers... don 't mix. As inane as it may sound, there 's a disparity between the student-teacher relationship we imagine and what actually goes on in the classroom. I 've never had any issues with my teachers, but in my experience, people I know seem to have issues with theirs. They preach to me that a teacher 's method of lecturing is ineffective and that their declining grade point average is entirely the fault of said teacher. Furthermore, after sitting in prep classes and tutoring dozens of students ranging from different ages, a common trend that is manifesting in classrooms that I see, is the miscommunication between educator and student. A paradigm of lack of interest and effort; a course of failure and frustration, and …show more content…
In the new age of technology, online resources such as Khan Academy, offer a curriculum available to students at home, which may render the traditional school obsolete in the near future. People may say the physical classroom is a thing of the past, however, success rates of online courses are abysmal with “10 percent and lower [being] standard,” for the number of students who actually finish the course (Stanford). Furthermore, when I use online resources for subjects like mathematics or science, I feel as though they are still not as effective as the school setting and many of my friends agree with me that a person is still preferred over a screen, even if that person can’t teach well. To overcome such an impasse, major adjustments to both attitude and personality of teachers and students must be made. Students must realize their role is to try and gain skills from the teacher which will help them not only reach success, but also define their own self worth; teachers must realize their role is to try and educate all of their students in order for them to understand the material. This mindset of pedagogy should be adopted earlier on in school to nurture the learning capabilities of …show more content…
Education and learning would be much easier for both parties if they cooperated with one other. Students must stop viewing teachers as the enemy and teachers must learn to respect the student. Although going to school and sitting down to learn may be painful at times, there is a always a worse alternative: online learning with no human connection or no learning at all. With engagement in the classrooms comes merit; students understand basic skills needed to function in society and teachers gain experience in their profession. If done right, schooling can be pleasant and if the student listens and the teacher explains, the teacher will mold a vessel of knowledge that will know as much, if not, more than the teacher him or herself. With better teaching comes better learning, and with better learning comes efficiency, and efficiency creates the straight the line to success rather than the cycle of failure that exists in the classroom

With online learning the parent or an in home tutor is not teaching the student, a teacher through the computer is teaching the student through email or virtual classroom, but the parent does not have to be present. A lot of people say this is another way for students to get lazy and become unfocused and fall behind in their education process. But I completely disagree, I find this as an opportunity for the student to get completely ahead if they are focused, and determined, you could graduate early and then have time to figure out what you actually want to do. I think you just have to know your student and know if they would thrive in an education environment at home. Also you need to trust your child if your student is saying they want to try online school from home, you should let them try it and if they don 't like it, they can just go back to normal school, its really not that big a deal.…

A teacher needs to be able to show the students what paths that student may have. He or she as a teacher needs to be able to guide the students through their education with the intent that the students at the end of their road as a student will be able to be a productive member of society and be well informed. Students should be guided by the teacher to interact with other people and work together through group projects to help stimulate a feeling of community. Also to challenge and guide the students group projects should be used to allow students to think for themselves and form ideas of their own while working with others. The teacher should try to show students values that all Americans should know but also not trying to force anything on to the students.…

Throughout the years, the proper way to educate students has been questioned. Teachers are expected to educate students by providing them with the information they will need in order to become successful and develop a career. However, students are expected to learn as much as possible while retaining the information they are taught in order for them to become successful. Consequently, the methods teachers use to educate students has become controversial. Therefore, a proper way to educate students should consist of providing them with the ability to find information, comprehend the material, develop critical thinking, and consist of communication between the student and the teacher.…

Also taking away their free time because they were very talkative a day in class. Students will learn by example and this will modify their behavior. Positive and negative consequences will vary behavior but creating an intervention plan with bad students will help them understand and slowly monitor progress. During my field experience I have noticed that my cooperative teacher has taken away fun activities/ labs in class because of the way that students were behaving and this has shown a positive impact on their behavior in future classes because the teacher follows thru with what she says she will do if they do not behave. The ultimate goal of my classroom management is not to manage control of the class but to ensure that everyone meets my expectations in order for them to learn in an effective and supportive environment but to teach students self-discipline and to understand the rules and consequences of my classroom by acting accordingly.…

The students then can pass the class just by memorizing the answers and leave with no quality education to benefit them in the future. Bottom line, teachers need to give their students the opportunity to think for themselves, even if it costs a bad grade. These teachers are the ones that refuse to be a “Polonius”, they won’t do the work for their students, and disapprove thinking for them. These teachers may seem tough and may have a reputation as the mean teacher but they are the ones students will benefit from in the long…

Attention Craig Groeschel, Senior Pastor of Lifechurch.tv, once said, “In order to reach people no one else is reaching, you are going to have to do things no one else is doing.” I believe the same can be said when it comes to education. Technology makes it easy for students to receive instant gratification from the many games, music, and social media that surrounds them. Unfortunately, the lack of these things to keep students engaged in class often leaves students uninterested in classwork. This can lead to low test scores and, devastatingly, a lack of knowledge for the student. It is important for teachers to explore multiple different approaches in keeping the interest of their students.…

Rewards are good compromises. If the students do particularly well on something, then they get to have class outside for a day, etc. By having compromise, teachers can increase the chance of their students being successful in the classroom. Making accommodations is useful, but these accommodations should both support the differences of the individual students and keep up a demanding academic environment. Some skills are necessary and unable to be compromised on, while some can be changed and worked out to help those who are struggling.…
