    The Beginning The pin-up girls of yesterday, where did they start and what came first? The actresses who posed for photos found it to be liberating and an attempt to fight for sexual equality, whether they knew it or not. The women models in wartime were popular with the troops and gave them something to dream about and be their fantasies. How you can go from being the girl next door with sweet innocent, to look like sexy vixen in the bedroom. What is a pin-up girl? According to Picture Post a pin-up girl is pictures of women all reproduced in the same dimensions, in black and white or color and without identifying labels, images range from nude art to portraits of actresses (Williams, 2011, p. 551).
