    International Expansion Strategy One of the leading players in the international donut and coffee restaurant chains, “Open kettle” promoted by William Rosenburg started its operations in 1948 at Quincy, Massachusetts. Till 1946, it offered luncheon services to workers in Boston. Their strategy was to prepare and to serve fresh coffee and donuts quickly and courteously though well-merchandised stores. They started selling donuts in 1959 and changed the name of the store to “kettle donuts”. In 1950, they assumed the corporate name of Dunkin’ Donuts. Doughnuts, based on American spelling of donut had originated from the Dutch oilcakes called “oliekoek” that are sweet cakes made of dough fried in oil, first prepared in 1909. During that time it was most likely the typical lifestyle and food habits of the Dutch living in India. The Dutch also had many savory items like “oliebolie” which resembles “Mysore bonda” in India.
