    I do not agree with making national service mandatory for all adults between the ages of 18 and 30 years of age. Although people would be payed enough to cover their basic living expenses while they’re doing mandatory service, and the service could have many positive personal benifits, making community service mandatory is unacceptable for several reasons. First, mandatory volunteer service is a contradiction in terms. How can it be voluntary if it’s mandatory? That just doesn’t make sense. People would not be doing good deeds because it’s the right thing to do, they would be doing it because they have to.
