I believe I deserve to be selected by the scholarship committee to receive scholarships from the National FFA Organization because as a committed student in both my high school and further education, I dedicate myself to fully capitalize on the opportunities that the scholarships elect to provide me. Additional to my commitment to education, I also pride myself on my diversified involvement in my school and community, diligence in work, and dedication to the future of agriculture.
Education holds the initial key to success, so I strive to achieve the best in school. Currently, I hold a top ten spot in my graduating class and maintain a 3.9 GPA, all while pushing myself by pursuing rigorous courses. This devotion to my education qualified me for a position in my high school’s National Honor

While I prioritize my own education, I also believe in assisting others, so they prosper in their own education. To fulfill this belief I am currently a member of the student leadership program at my high school. For this program, I co-lead a class of over forty students for twenty-five minutes every school day with the assistance of three other student leaders. During that span of time the student leaders and I work to provide students with knowledge to expand both their educational and world view, by equipping them with innovative projects we diligently create. Holding a leadership position in the classroom proves I am willing to work hard, not just for my own education, but for the education of others as well.
Additional to my leadership within the classroom, I also pursue leadership positions outside of the classroom. One example is Key Club, where my leadership pairs perfectly with my passion for helping others. Key Club stands as an organization that provides students opportunities of service to build character and leadership. In Key Club I serve my club as secretary. As secretary, I plan meetings,

Growing up, leadership has always played a huge role in my life. It has helped me grow as a person and allowed me to learn new skills. In middle school, I enjoyed working with my peers to organize events and help others. For example, as a member of my school’s choir, I took the opportunity to help organize concerts, design brochures and make posters to inform the school community about upcoming concerts and events. In addition, I took part in the fundraiser to help raise money for our music department at Carson.…

One way I plan to demonstrate leadership and service is through volunteering to be a sixth grade camp counselor. Counseling middle schoolers would not only improve my responsibility, but it would also be another way that I plan to serve my community and demonstrate leadership. Another way I plan to build character and lead is to join Link Crew during my junior and senior years. I remember my Link Crew leaders during my freshman year and they were very helpful and informative. I also hope to be same positive role model for incoming freshman who are nervous or have questions.…

Before addressing why Pitt is a good choice for me, I would like to review why I am a good choice for Pitt. The University of Pittsburgh values their “talented, diverse and high achieving students”, their “safe and healthy campuses”, their unique balance of “fun and camaraderie with internships and other learning opportunities outside the classroom”, and their focus on “developing students into global citizens” (University of Pittsburgh webpage, ‘Prospective Students’). I am a well-rounded student who places priority upon academics, as well as a broad array of performing arts extracurricular activities, over 300 hours of community service, several job experiences and religious organizations. Therefore, if admitted to The University of Pittsburgh, I would fit right in with the ardent and accomplished student body, just as I would benefit as a person and as…

Every year I am elected to be class president. I believe the class votes for me because they know I am responsible and they trust me with the class actions. Another role of leadership I have had was being a member of the AAL (Advanced Association of Leaders). Mrs. Hessling chose us because we were the role models for the younger kids and examples for our peers.…

In Student Affairs we can challenge students to think creatively, speak boldly, and lead fiercely in their college careers. Students attend college to gain knowledge and learn at a higher level of thinking, to me that means we must challenge them to adapt and learn more about themselves, the world they live in, and how they would like to fit into the world around them. This concept is greatly encouraged by the Social Change Model of Leadership Development, a framework that encourages students to learn about integrity, authenticity, inclusion, meaning making and collaboration (Komives, 2011). As Student Affairs professionals, we can provide students with leadership experience and challenge their developmental growth through leadership, teaching students that leadership is not only about holding a position but rather the behaviors of working towards shared goals and ideals (Komives,…

My leadership philosophy is one that is rooted in the strong belief that it must be a continuous quest to motivate all students to become critical thinkers, effective communicators, and lifelong learners, while possessing outstanding character. This includes assisting students with discovering their talents and interests, therefore developing a love of learning, while developing into ethical, productive citizens. Accomplishing this requires a leader who is knowledgeable in pedagogy and curriculum, including the use of data and current assessments to enhance instruction, and who possesses outstanding communication skills, the ability to manage an operation’s resources effectively, promotes collaboration and teamwork, and is passionate and committed to helping students learn. I believe that my interpersonal skills will be my biggest strength as an educational leader. Through frequent, honest communication, and my enthusiasm for the subject, I will demonstrate understanding and compassion for those around me, therefore building trusting relationships.…

This can be accomplished by compiling Leadership Teams composed of teacher leaders, administrators, and other facilitators. There are many roles that teacher leaders can fulfill; these roles can be “informal” or formal” ones, and there are a variety of ways that teacher leaders can be chosen. A leader in an informal role would not have been selected through a process but rather spontaneously becomes a leader by the respect they command from colleagues and their fields of expertise. Formal leadership roles are usually applied for and chosen through a selection process.…
