  • What Does Work Ethic Mean To You Essay

Work Ethic What work ethic means to me is to be prepared and eager to work on a task. No matter what the task is you will be ready and willing to do whatever is necessary to make sure that task will get done when it needs to get done. I was told that this may be one of the most important traits of a person because it can get you jobs, it can be leave the biggest impression on people that may be important to you, make you pass or fail classes, it can just make you an all around better person if you actually do work hard, which i try my hardest to do most of the time depending on what it is i am working on. I do tend to procrastinate way more than i should if i want to say that i have a good work ethic. Even if you procrastinate though, you can still have amazing work ethic. You just have to want to make sure it gets done and done correctly. Not only for yourself but for the people around you. You can 't go through life expecting things to be given to you with little to no work being done. You have to actually about what you do and how you do it because you do get what you put into something, so having a great work ethic can be extremely beneficial in the future. I was told growing up that it isn 't always about the results so much as the process of how you did it. If you gave it your best and tried as hard as you could then you can 't be mad at yourself at what you get out of that. If you don 't care and slack off and not try then you can 't complain if you don 't get the…

  • Personal Narrative: Challenges In A Person's Life

Challenges play an important role in people 's life. At the time it may seem bad, but there is a positive side to it. Everyone has challenges in their life, within those challenges there is a lesson to learn. The main challenge that I had to go through had affected me both physically and mentally. Domestic violence is not an easy thing to go through, yet again the worse part is to go back and talk about it. My family consists of six people: my father, mother, older sister, little sister and…

  • Graduation Speech: The Glade Runner

Hey, I’m Gracie and I’m in 8th grade and I just got done reading about your story in the maze. I have many questions for you and about your decisions you made in the Glade and on the way out of the maze. When you first were in the box what were you thinking as you were rising? Knowing me, I would have been freaking out about not knowing anything and why I was even in there in the first place. You just seemed so calm and cool with it. Also, I think that figuring out everything about the Glade…

  • My Experience Of Being An Immigrant

Being an immigrant is a title, but I view it more as a story, my story. On my way to America I’m reciting , “Dil Dil Pakistan Jaan Jaan Pakistan”, in my mind. The literal translation of that is “Heart Heart Pakistan Soul Soul Pakistan”. I was the definition of a stereotypical immigrant. A heavy Pakistani accent, for sure a curry lover, and of course I wanted to go to Harvard, the only option available for me. Inspired by the fact that America was the one and only place that I would be able to…

  • Personal Narrative: Warfighters

Smith.” The day arrived that I would have to do something significant. During a men’s meeting, with other churches, Deacon Simms motioned my way and said, “go teach the men about leadership from the bible.” That day is forever etched in my memory. Teaching from Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Arguably explaining that as a leader, you must believe that you can accomplish any task when God is your guide. I could use my bible for references being that I…

  • Persuasive Essay On The Hunger Games

    342) It was all just a joke. They never planned on allowing them both to win. It was all just an act like Katniss’s feelings toward Peeta in the beginning. They were going to have to go against one another. These words made Katniss realize the truth. “They never intended to let us both live. This had all been devised by the Gamemakers to guarantee the most dramatic showdown in history. And like a fool, I bought into it.” (25.342) Katniss didn't say this out loud but this quote I believe reveals…

  • Living With Someone With Alcoholism

Living with someone with PTSD linked with alcoholism. Living with someone with PTSD is not only hard for the person with PTSD but also for the family. It causes a lot of stress and anxiety. • The Importance Of Working Mother And Stay At Home Mother

Mothers working has increased dramatically since the 1970s. Women have evolved since the late 1900s. Many work in work fields alongside men. Becoming mothers does not stop many of them from still working. A lower percent of mothers stay at home, although, it should not be for every woman. Women should not feel obligated to be a stay at home mother; they should be able to be independent, to be a role-model to their children, and to be capable to bring a larger income into the home. Most…

  • Personal Narrative: The Day I Met Emmaline Kent

The day I met Emmaline Kent will forever be engrained in my mind. If only I knew then what I know now things might be different. Maybe then I would have known not to fall for this seemingly vapid and spoiled girl. It’s funny to recall how much I hated her back then. Still, even without the knowledge that one day this girl would be my world I managed to memorize everything about that day. Flint had always been my home. I had never even step foot outside of it. I never wanted to either. I had…

  • Personal Narrative-Lack Of Integrity

It is so frustrating. One minute you can do the skill the next minute you can 't. Many gymnasts and cheerleaders, including myself, can do a skill perfectly one day, only to find themselves losing it, or worse yet, not even being able to go for it at all. Take my story, for example, one day I was throwing my standing tucks perfectly. I have been performing this skill since the eighth grade. I would go to cheerleading practice and perform the skill without second guessing myself. The next day, I…
