Hey, I’m Gracie and I’m in 8th grade and I just got done reading about your story in the maze. I have many questions for you and about your decisions you made in the Glade and on the way out of the maze. When you first were in the box what were you thinking as you were rising? Knowing me, I would have been freaking out about not knowing anything and why I was even in there in the first place. You just seemed so calm and cool with it. Also, I think that figuring out everything about the Glade would have been so confusing and frustrating because nobody told you anything. I don’t know if I would have been able to keep myself from screaming at them to tell me about the Glade, but you didn’t yell even though you really wanted to get answers. When you told Chuck for the very first time that you wanted to be a runner, I really thought you were crazy. You were the newbie of the group and the runners are the best of the best, but you still wanted to be a runner. I think that the part of the reason you jumped in the maze to help Alby and Minho was you were really curious about the maze and you saw your only chance ever to see the maze. You running in there was really brave knowing that know one had ever survived a night in the maze, but it was also really risky and I probably wouldn’t be brave enough to run in the maze. After that night were you more relieved that you had made it out or were you scared of what was going to happen next because you had broken the number one rule. I…

Challenges play an important role in people 's life. At the time it may seem bad, but there is a positive side to it. Everyone has challenges in their life, within those challenges there is a lesson to learn. The main challenge that I had to go through had affected me both physically and mentally. Domestic violence is not an easy thing to go through, yet again the worse part is to go back and talk about it. My family consists of six people: my father, mother, older sister, little sister and…

Being an immigrant is a title, but I view it more as a story, my story. On my way to America I’m reciting , “Dil Dil Pakistan Jaan Jaan Pakistan”, in my mind. The literal translation of that is “Heart Heart Pakistan Soul Soul Pakistan”. I was the definition of a stereotypical immigrant. A heavy Pakistani accent, for sure a curry lover, and of course I wanted to go to Harvard, the only option available for me. Inspired by the fact that America was the one and only place that I would be able to…

Smith.” The day arrived that I would have to do something significant. During a men’s meeting, with other churches, Deacon Simms motioned my way and said, “go teach the men about leadership from the bible.” That day is forever etched in my memory. Teaching from Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Arguably explaining that as a leader, you must believe that you can accomplish any task when God is your guide. I could use my bible for references being that I…

    342) It was all just a joke. They never planned on allowing them both to win. It was all just an act like Katniss’s feelings toward Peeta in the beginning. They were going to have to go against one another. These words made Katniss realize the truth. “They never intended to let us both live. This had all been devised by the Gamemakers to guarantee the most dramatic showdown in history. And like a fool, I bought into it.” (25.342) Katniss didn't say this out loud but this quote I believe reveals…

Living with someone with PTSD linked with alcoholism. Living with someone with PTSD is not only hard for the person with PTSD but also for the family. It causes a lot of stress and anxiety. We all know that person that just seems to be naturally talented at, well, everything. You know—that kid that's been given every single opportunity? That girl that can juggle AP Physics and dance rehearsals, but is still Varsity soccer captain with a great social life? Or that guy that's simultaneously the Varsity Quarterback/Short-Stop/Homecoming King/Valedictorian? We all know that person. They're talented. They're lucky. They're driven. And they know it. Now usually this is where I would tell…

I’ll take Grammar Geek. I’ll take Grammar Mistress. Heck, I’ll even accept Grammar Dominatrix if you’re feeling saucy. I’ll be the Sheriff of Grammartown, flashing my badge as a card-carrying member of the Grammar Police. But please, can we possibly stop comparing people who prefer that you choose the correct form of “there”, “their”, or “they’re” with genocidal maniacs who tried to wipe an entire race of people, along with several other groups, off the face of the Earth? Conflating the desire…
