Joshua, Gideon, and David are the mentors assigned when there is a battle raging in my calling. Each of these warfighters had their flaws, however, they depended on God to fight the battle. David amid his troubles had to encourage himself (1st Sam. 30:6); Gideon decided to throw out his fleece (Jud. 6:37); Joshua commanded to march around a wall (Jos. 6). At any rate, these men followed Gods instructions to become successful and honored. These men were winners in all they accomplished. 7 Practices of Effective Ministry comments, “Everyone wants to be a part of a winning team. But the reverse is also true: People tend to stop showing up when an organization is not winning. Nothing will empty seats faster than a losing streak. Players can complain about fair-weather fans, and owners can pour millions into slick ad campaigns, but the best way to fill seats is to win.” God has designed us to be winners.
Lastly, I am shaped to lead, pastor, and teach. During the Spiritual Transformation Inventory (STI)®, the Myers & Briggs Type Indicators (MBTI)®, Uniquely You Survey®, and the Diablo Valley College (DVC) Learning Styles Inventory®, I learned more about who I am and why I am. Each survey provided clear insights on my persona. Although some points I was aware that I possessed, I gain new perspectives about myself. For instance, with DVC Learning Styles, I gained a new assessment on how I learn. This will enable me to not only learn efficiently but to teach in an improved
