The Plan of Salvation is intended to improve God’s children, and allow them to return to live with Him again. In order to do that, however, tests and instruction must be given. This mortal life is an opportunity of immense spiritual and intellectual growth. That growth comes naturally for some, and less naturally for others. Thankfully, our Heavenly Father has given instructions through His servants and the scriptures as to how we can increase this knowledge. Because of this, teaching is an integral part of religion, and, Christ’s Gospel. By further understanding the principles of teaching and being instructed, we will further be able to take advantage of those opportunities to receive spiritual enlightenment, through the Holy Ghost. Principles of Teaching One of the most important principles of the Gospel is to teach. Without instruction, the basic principles of the Gospel would never be shared, and those principles would have no effect in the lives of others. In section 88 of the Doctrine and Covenants, verse 77 it reads; “And I give unto you a commandment that you shall teach one another the doctrine of the kingdom.”1 This is a direct charge to teach the doctrine of God’s kingdom. It is a commandment to teach the Gospel. Certain blessings are promised through teaching, which are illustrated in the following verse; “Teach ye diligently and my grace shall attend you, that you may be instructed more perfectly in theory, in principle, in doctrine…

At the age of 20, I said the words that sent me on the eternal path to salvation. The life I lived before 20 was selfish; I couldn’t care less about anyone else’s well-being or feelings, I was hurtful, self-destructive, and worldly. It wasn’t until I built a relationship with Christ at the age of 25 that these things truly changed. My nature was worldly until I felt Gods everlasting love for the first time. That love made me want to love in return, it answered questions I’ve asked my entire…

Instead of being messengers of God, they thought of themselves as possessed by God. At this same time, between the end of the second century and the beginning of the third century, the Christian leaders were deciding which text to include in Scripture and nearly exclude the Johannine text from the canon because of its use within the Montanitius community. The followers argued that their prophetic gifts come from the prophets Quadratus and Ammia of Philadelphia whose linage date back to the first…

from God in this verse, which reiterates the Holy Spirit remaining on Jesus after His baptism. But the early descriptions of the being of the Holy Spirit are not as detailed as the explanation in John 14-15, where the Person of the Holy Spirit is more explicitly described. The difference between the Holy Spirit and Jesus as beings is…

Baptism is much more than just a sacrament of initiation; instead, it is supposed to be the model of how Christian faith in Jesus is genuinely lived out. What this model is meant to express is the notion that faith is a process of growing more intimately united with Christ, rather than it merely being a one-time event that ends once the ritual is completed. The Christian life of faith, like Baptism, requires “catechesis, conversion,… evangelization, and… the living of a sacramental life of…
