Noting that power is the demise of all three of their deaths. Each of them had their own way of coming into power, but the most used tactic would be propaganda and fear. They all wanted to take over the world with their extreme ideas. With some of them almost succeeding, it is insane to think about what the world would be like if their plan actually went according to what they expected. It is good to know that the United States is one of the only capitalist democracies, this system of government gives almost all the power to the people. Such as free trade enterprise, voting, a declaration of independence with amendments and rights for those within the society. Naked power of the affluence is the only power dictating this country. “People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.” (V for Vendetta). This is directly speaking on how people from all over the country would have all the power if they were not afraid to voice their opinions. When the law no longer has the ability to protect the citizen’s basic rights, chaos is gradually formed, and in that moment one feels the need to take matters into their own hands…
When considering its significant impact on the world the history of terrorism is relatively brief. That being said, as it propagates across the globe its brevity is shrinking and it continues to find its way into news headlines and into the history books. It’s a safe notion to associate the beginning of radical terrorism to the 1980s. The 1980s was a time period where terrorist adopted many of their tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) that are still used today. 1983 was a particularly…
counterterrorism and national security. On September 11th, 2001, Richard A. Clarke, chair of the Counterterrorism Security Group, the CSG for short, guided the United States’ instantaneous response to the terrorist attacks from the infamous Situation Room located in the West Wing of the White House. It is from here, that Clarke starts his narrative. With a thirty-year career in national security, involving ten years in the White House, Richard Clarke brings a remarkably extensive perspective on…
Christopher Hill defined foreign policy of a state as a set of strategies of activities chosen by a state with the view of safeguarding its national interests while at the same time achieving its goals within the international arena. It is also seen that foreign policy varies from individual states, governments and transnational actors. Domestic and foreign policies are recognized as increasingly inseparable and they are interconnected as a part of the overall political processes in a country. …
The Battle of Mazari Sharif, Afghanistan was the first battle and victory in the Global War of Terrorism following the attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001 (Fall_of_Mazari_Sharif, 2015). The combined forces of Northern Alliance U.S. Army Special Forces, supported by the U.S Air Force and U.S. Naval Air Forces (Gutkin, 2001) fought against the Taliban, al-Qaeda forces, led by Osama bin Laden, and Pakistani volunteers for the control of Mazari Sharif. This battle took place on…
attacked the World Trade Center and the Pentagon had stated how disgusted by how they were by the way the American government was treating the Palestinians "Your position against Muslims in Palestine is despicable and disgraceful. America has no shame." - Osama bin Laden May 1998. This was said by the AL-QAEDA leader Bin Laden 3 years before the 9/11 took place. This was like a warning to the American government to stop interfering with the Islamic state, Palestine but the government ignored…
Introduction The war against terrorism in the United States has transformed to become a major battle in Afghanistan and other members of the ISIS community. Islamic extremism is rampant in those countries, and most individuals air their grievances by launching terrorist attacks on the United States. The battle which has persisted for over a decade now has faced a series of challenges, and it is important to measure the progress made by the United States in its counterterrorism and…
escalating Al Qaeda operations worldwide. national interest of promoting Americans’ physical and economical security. The United States entered wars in Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan because they believed preventing the spread of Communism was necessary to protect the American people. However, the success of the wars did not dictate American success in the overall Cold War. Professor Brands suggested that American leaders rally the people against a singular enemy to focus foreign policy on one mission at a time. Once the Soviet Union…
Operation Desert Fox occurred in Iraq from 16th – 19th of December 1998. Operation Desert Fox was a four day military bombing campaign organised by the United States of America and the United Kingdom. The United States and the United Kingdom justified the strikes as Iraq had not complied with the UNSC’s resolutions and kept interfering with the UNSC’s weapons inspectors. Another main reason the bombing occurred was to punish Saddam Hussein's regime with military force in the hope of removing…
