the NBA would be the only possible thing I would be able to do in life. It did not happen and I was kind of lost for a point in my life with not knowing what to do with myself. After I graduated high school I decided eventually to go play basketball at the local junior college and it just didn’t feel the same for me and I lost a lot of confidence in myself in about everything. For the first time in my life I quit a team which was a huge mistake and something I should have stuck out and did regardless. After quitting the team I started hanging out with old friends who weren’t really doing the best thing and who were involved in the streets a lot. We found ourselves drinking and just doing nothing for some months and then I could just feel I wasn’t doing the right thing but continued. I eventually got back into school but still didn’t play basketball and ended up sitting out another year due to not wanting to play but I started actually liking to play again. Hanging out with the same guys who were basically thugs just wasn’t associated with any gangs. The turning point in my life was when they wanted to start committing petty theft and I knew that wasn’t right and I knew I hadn’t been raised as such. One night they wanted me to drive to go by a house to look at it and we drove by the home and at this point I could hear my mother, grandmother and more importantly grandfather talking to me. When we returned to their home they wanted to go back later that night and take some…

One thing I try not to forget is that no matter how nice the Miners are to me, they’re not my friends. Not even Gator who I treat like a younger brother. Their allegiance is totally and completely to Kane. If he decided he wanted me gone I was gone, no questions asked. Knowledge like that can mess with your mind if you let it. The song “Better Than This” is performed by my favorite country artist, Hunter Hayes. The song is about how Hunter knew he was born to do something great, and he takes action to pursue his dream in music. He talks about the complications he went through, and he knows it will all turn out in the end. This song taught me that chasing your dream is not a clear and easy path; you have to be able to stand up to the complications “Better Than This” is mostly made up of approximate rhymes, like born…

Get Better Faster through Patient Satisfaction I was born with a condition called a concave chest. Basically, there was a bowl shape in my chest which resulted in my heart being pushed up against my lungs. It was always know that I would need surgery to correct this but it didn’t become a true reality until January of 2006 a week after my eleventh birthday. I remember waiting…
