Compared to other culinary schools OCCI has the same great qualities and staff for a reasonable and affordable price for anyone. There is another great school that goes by ‘Le Cordon Bleu”. This school is amazing! It originated in Paris, France but have a web of schools here in the U.S. Since I found OCCI which is very close compared to other schools, I looked for a Le Cordon Bleu college nearby and I found one in Portland Oregon. The tuition for and associate degree is around $40,050 for a resident student and $42,550 for a nonresident student. “At Le Cordon Bleu, we strive to provide you with the cooking, training and culinary education that is second to none.”(Chefs.edu). They promise great quality training and an out of this world experience but at OCCI I can do the same for a very different tuition price. In my culinary classes Ms. Guinn teaches about the different materials, tools and the differences that each of them have. I 've heard her say “Pay for the material, not the name” (Ms. Debra Guinn). I can apply that to these two colleges that I have talked about. Le Cordon Bleu is a high end college, originated in France, with many branches here in the US. The prices between them are extremely different but yet the same quality will be given. Faculty in both colleges are well experienced and certified.
