Julia Child changed many people's lives with her cooking, from her books, to her tv shows. Even though she wasn’t French her title was “The French Chef.” Julia was born on August 15, 1912 in Pasadena, California. Most people only know Julia for her cooking but she did have a life before her cooking career started. Julia went to Smith College to get her degree for writing. Her goal in life was to become a writer. She worked in a furniture store advertising department, but got fired. However in 1941, she started volunteering for Office of Strategic Services (OSS). Then got promoted to be the communication for top secret documents in WWII. During the war she met Paul Child, about a year after the war they got married on September 3, 1946. She won Emmys, Medals, and even was in the Culinary Hall of Fame. She didn’t always make her food perfectly, she wanted the world to see her mistakes. It didn’t matter that she messed up on camera. Before her cooking came to fame, she was heading into a very different career. She only started cooking when she was 32. She fell in love with the French cuisine and went to school for it, and ended up becoming famous for it. With her cooking came many awards and honors. Her greatest is being the first woman in The Culinary Hall of Fame. It’s safe to say that Julia Childs changed the face in cooking as Judith Jones said, “People would not be eating as well today without
