    Cancun, a Mexican city on the Yucatán Peninsula, bordering the Caribbean Sea, was discovered by the Mayan ("Cancun" 1). Since Cancun is a peninsula, it is normally a tropical climate. Specifically a tropical wet and dry climate, with temperature differences between seasons, but it is a rainy place. May, June, September, and October are the wettest months of the year, in the two months, there is an average of 9 inches each month. All though Cancun is warm year-around. It is basically like having summer all year around. About four decades ago Cancun has been just a deserted island on the on the forgotten region of the Caribbeans. It wasn’t until the early 1970’s when Cancun was going to be turned into a resort. Before Cancun was called Cancun, it used to be called Ekab, until they changed it. (“10 Amazing Facts” 1).
