    Talking over everything we had on our agenda, I could not wait for the plane to land, so I could see the beauty of the island. Hours later, after a connecting flight in Atlanta, Georgia, we were on our last leg of the flight. I remember flying over Florida and seeing the coast separate from the ocean. Being up in the clouds, flying over the ocean is a view unlike any other. It’s beautifully breathtaking. After what seemed like an eternity of staring out at the ocean, the pilot said we were going to begin our descent into Nassau. The second we stepped off the plane, I felt the humidity set in. In all honesty, I was a little disappointed at first. When you go to a tropical island, you expect perfect weather, with a beautiful view, and really, just to be impressed. Disappointment washed over me because of what I saw. It was extremely windy, the sun wasn’t shining, and the humidity was high. We found our bus that would take us through Nassau to Atlantis, the resort we were staying on. The bumpy and winding bus ride lasted at least 45 minutes, but I actually enjoyed the ride through the town because I got to see something different than what was familiar to me. Graffiti presented itself on the walls and run-down buildings surrounded us. Unlike in Orange City, people freely used their car horns. There were numerous times when a break in the buildings would appear and I would see hotels. Always hoping the resort that we were stopping at would be ours, I often…
