Lulu Hypermarket is the retail division of multinational Lulu Group International that has been known as a trendsetter of the retail industry. Today, Lulu symbolizes quality retailing with 117 stores and is immensely popular with the discerning shoppers across the Gulf region.

Lulu Hypermarkets did not just dominate cities of the UAE but have become the most preferred shopping destinations in Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and India.

By taking such action, which resulted in 70% of their goods being directly imported from producer, gives Lulu hypermarket the strength in offering its customers a competitive price compared to other retailers such as Union Co-operate and Emirates Co-operate.

Also by setting up its own food manufacturing facilities in India were the cost of setup and labor are cheaper compared to UAE it also add an advantage in setting competitive prices, offers and promotions that attract a wide range of customers to its retails.

However, being a hypermarket with a wide range of products, you have to insure that you are deploying the right pricing strategy to the right product line for example, lulu will have to set its prices in a competitive range for some electronics or even set them according to the manufacturer to insure they are not over priced compared to the market and competitors prices. Lulu hypermarket have designed the shopping process in its stores by dividing every section separately and independently were the customer can do all his grocery shopping in one area rather than moving from one spot to another. After finishing the shopping, customers move toward the check out counters were the counters are divided into two sections. The first section for people with less number of items and the other counters are for customers with huge number of items to insure that people are not waiting in long ques.

The employees are will trained and aware of the products available in their relative sections and can provide customers guidance on the available items. The employees are from different nationalities to serve different customers and all speak English. The employees were unified uniforms with their nametags on. They are always stationed next there respected section all the time. Cleaners are always available swiping and cleaning to insure the store always clean and attractive.
