Evaluative Essay: Native New Yorker
Planning to go out with some friends? Whether it is with doctors, or scientists, or maybe your significant other, one epic questions always goes unanswered. “What do you want to eat?” Despite all of the knowledge we accrue throughout our life times, this is the hardest question to answer. We can spew out opinions on politics or trending pop culture, but when it comes to dinner, few are brave enough to make a suggestion first. With thousands of restaurant to choose from restaurants, I have chosen the Native New Yorker to visit and review. All too often nowadays, customer service is lacking. Gone are the days where the paying customer is right and will be taken care of appropriately. Too many times people feel like they are inconveniencing the wait staff to change an order, or get more condiments, or refill a drink. So finding a place where you can be greeted and taken care of in a timely manner may be the deciding factor on where a person eats the next time she/he has to make that tough decision. Mark S. writes that the wait staff was not perfect, but they were accommodating with such a large group described as “fairly picky”, and that despite the NBA playoffs, they were seated together and taken care of in a timely fashion (par.1-6). This is a place where the patron is taken care of. When the customer walks through the door, they are greeted and seated. While they eat, the managers will come by and ask how things are going. When drinks are empty, the wait staff quickly fills them. The customer is treated as though they are paying the employees’ checks. There is a concept! With about 90 employees per store, the needs of the customer are met even during busy hours (The Sun par.
