I was very intrigued by your detailed explanation of the hiring process at the Life Care Center. Sounds like the Life Care Center followed a detailed plan to hire a new activities director. I think it’s a great idea to have internal candidates submit a letter explaining why they feel they would a good fit for the position they are applying for. I know from my own personal experience promoting within, while great in theory can be very complex. It is a situation that has to be well within the distributive justice of the employees of that organization.
