    Sidney Poitier is a famous African American actor and director who has earned many awards for his love of acting. Sidney had a hard childhood and did not have very good behavior in his early life. He saw plenty of racism and prejudice in his childhood and helped put a stop to it in his adult life. He never had a great education but he still had many significant accomplishments! Sidney was born prematurely on February 20, 1927 to a poor family in Miami, Florida while the Bahamian family was on a vacation.
