  • Puzzles When Hate Came To Town Analysis

at Puzzles, he was involved in car chase with officers and was shot - 3 days later, Jacob would succumb from his injuries. What makes this crime a hate-crime is due to the fact that when Jacob entered Puzzles, he approached Phillip Daggett, the bartender, and asked him if this was “a gay bar” Phillip told him yes and he replied by saying “this is exactly where I want to be.” This was a pre-meditated attack. Witness then reported that Jacob started pacing the club and appeared excited before pulling out his weapons of choice, a hatchet and gun. It is suspected that Jacob used a gun because he considered himself to be a “Juggalo” which is what an individual called themselves if they were a fan of the musical group called Insane Clown Posse. The Insane Clown Posse’s symbol was of a cartoon character that was holding a hatchet. In the documentary we meet victims and individuals who were inside of Puzzles that night. Two of them, Bob Perry & Jeff Allison, both in the mid-age, Bob Perry were shot, Jeff was not injured. What I found these two shared in common about their “coming out” is that they did so later on in life. They also have sons, who like their mother have found it difficult to deal with. This leads me to one of the individuals that I would like to work with. Kevin…
