    The short story, The Most Dangerous Game, written and published in 1924, by Richard Connell. In the story, a hunter named Rainsford is stranded on an island, owned by a wealthy Cossack named Zaroff. Who hunts humans, not animals. Zaroff then gives Rainsford a choice, to be hunted by Zaroff for three days, or to be killed by Zaroff’s manservant, Ivan. Rainsford chooses to be hunted by Zaroff and is given hunting gear. On the last day of the hunt, Zaroff and his dogs corner Rainsford, and Rainsford jumps into the sea. Zaroff thinks that Rainsford has committed suicide and goes back home, where Rainsford, who survived, kills Zaroff in his own room.
