There are times that cheating adds interest to the game for the fans that invokes excitement or thrill. I think that one of the biggest examples of ethical cheating is in hockey when a fight breaks out. While this behavior is a convention in the NHL, is prohibited in International play by the IIHF. For both entities, there are regulative rules to handle those situations, but fights in hockey can not only motivate the teams on the ice but also the fans in the stands. It can also be considered a strategic foul, because it can create a 4-on-4 situation, which allows for more room out on the ice for skaters to make plays on both sides. I also agree that strategic fouls are a fair form of cheating because they can add an incentive for a player to help their team win. On 2/3/2016, I was working the Ball State Women’s basketball game against Akron. During the game, I saw women from both teams taking strategic fouls in an attempt to help their team achieve victory. While fouls are considered ‘cheating’ within the game and players who foul are often penalized for their actions. On the other side, there are players, who draw a foul from the other team on purpose. Doesn’t that make them cheaters as well because they gave their team an advantage? I think so, but that doesn’t mean that they are wrong for doing it. If in sports the prelusory goal is to win the game within the set lusory goals. The illusory means at which an athlete achieves those goals doesn’t disrupt the actual game being played then is it really
