    A Time to Never be Forgotten I will never forget the hot Florida sun in the summertime or the squeaking of basketball shoes moving across the hardwood court. All this happened when I was in the 3rd grade. As I was eager to get out of Kansas, I started packing my bags the night before, and I usually never pack until my mom is yelling at me at the top of her lungs to get out of the door. This was going to be my second time heading back to Florida, but my first time going there for basketball. We were going up there for AAU nationals to compete amongst the top teams from around the world. Our flight was due to leave at around 5:30am. Most people would hate to wake up that early to fly, but me on the other hand, I couldn’t wait! As the team and my family boarded the plane it felt different. Usually when i’m boarding a flight all these scenarios intrude my mind. What if the plane crashes? What if we have to go through a severe storm? What if the guy next to me hasn’t taken a shower in a week? This time I was uneasy but for separate reasons. A million thoughts had crossed my mind about basketball and how the team was going to perform. I shook those feelings off knowing there was nothing I could do about them. The plane ride was a breeze, especially when you are flying with your friends.
