Besides her degree in meteorology she is also a Certified Broadcast meteorologist, the highest certification available for broadcast scientists by the American Meteorological Society, only given to those who prove excellence in on air delivery and are fully accredited in meteorology from a University. From 2013 -2014 she was Chief Meteorologist at Telemundo Houston. In the time here she has covered tornados, severe weather, and winter storms. Also participating in Houston’s Comcast Sports Networks and at NBC’s Today’s show. In April 2013 she also joins Statweather, a leading private weather company in the US, providing long term forecast around the globe. She serves as an International Consultant Meteorologist, providing the products for Hispanic countries. Irene is also a bilingual meteorologist at a private weather company, Climadata.
