Introduction For pilots operating in conditions that exceed their ability, a pilot can quickly create an undesired aircraft state. Since weather is always changing along a flight path it is imperative to be prepared for any unforeseen situations that may arise during a flight; while prior planning is always a safety net, it will not alleviate every scenario that appears such as inadvertent flight into cloud. Of course Transport Canada has taken the appropriate precautions by incorporating a minimum instrument time of five hours before the issuance of a private pilot license, of which three of those hours can be issued on the ground in approved flight training devices (FTDs). As a result of these requirements, pilots will be more prepared when entering Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) over pilots who have not received this training . Presently, the methods used to gain this experience are inadequate and give a poor representation of flight in actual IMC. For this reason many pilots who have little or no actual IMC flight time will be at a disadvantage if they ever find themselves in deteriorated weather conditions. Besides weather, other conditions can be just as deadly for visual flight rule (VFR) pilots. Theses conditions consist of: lack of horizon, reduced visibility, no ground reference or night flying. By improving on the current standards the benefits will transition to other, yet similar conditions. Presumably it will be in this thesis that we investigate…

For starters Georgia College has smaller class sizes because they are a liberal arts school. Their classes generally have about twenty to thirty students, but some of the science classes are larger. Having smaller classes allows you to be closer to the professors and receive more help from advisors, because there is a smaller amount of students. Also they have a couple different housing options; you can live in a dorm or you can live in The Villages. The Villages is a set of apartment style…

I felt that I was robbed of an opportunity that I should have been given. One of these times just occurred this year as we transitioned into the second semester at school, and the situation dealt with my class schedule. As I planned out the classes I wanted to take my senior year, I had hoped that I would be taking AP Calculus and AP Physics, but there were not enough students at my school to sign up for either of these classes, and so they were not offered. However, I had planned to that I…

so thankful we have a small class, or else it would be chaos. I generally don’t enjoy his class, but it’s okay OCCASIONALLY. My current spot is in the back by his desk and the door, which is a pretty nice seat. I sit by Drew Turner, Abby Thole, and Cade Chapman. Cade talks A LOT which is so annoying. From my seat, I can hear him CLIPPING HIS NAILS. What the heck!! I find that gross to do in a classroom setting WITH STUDENTS in class. It makes me cringe. On top of the nasty class habits, he isn’t…

I am very happy with my grade and I have enjoyed freshman composition. The day I first walked into class, I thought that I was going to fail. Freshman composition was my only college class of the semester and this made me think that it was going to be a tough semester. I was expecting to get a B in this class and I did. Also I thought that Ms. Scarbrough was going to be hard on use because this was a college class, but she was not. She was very nice to us, answered any questions we had, and…
